The Co-viewing Factor unit measures how many individuals gather around the TV in average. In version 5.06 this unit has been enhanced and it is possible to filter which individuals should be considered in the calculation. In Instar Analytics for Desktop v4.12 an historical limitation regarding statements lenght was removed. This limitation was applied during the conversion, therefore audience files converted with versions prior and after v4.12 can produce slightly different results. Starting in v4.11, it is possible to provide the master tables data in CSV format instead of the fixed size TABs, NEWs and RECs. Also, the programs and spots binary files can be stored now in a more flexible columnar format. Using this new binary format implies providing the raw files in CSV format too.

The document about the Shared Load in Instar Analytics desktop has been updated. The "Blocking intruders detector" is a module available since version 4.3 and makes easier the detection of users with mistakes in their configurations that could lead to shared load problems.
A new tutorial has been added to show the usage of the Custom Unit (available since version 4.3). Using this unit, customized units can be created combining two existing units or a unit and a constant.

Astro, Malaysia's leading integrated consumer media group that provides Pay TV and radio services, has signed an agreement with Kantar Media
to design, deploy and manage a proprietary audience measurement service. Within that contract, Instar Analytics 64-bit will be the licensed audience measurement
tool.

PMT, the TV audience measurement steering committee in Slovakia (with members from RTVS, TV Markiza, TV JOJ, TA3 and the Association of Media Agencies)
has renewed its contract with Kantar Media for the provision of TV audience measurement. Within that contract, Instar Analytics will be the licensed audience measurement
tool in the Slovakian market.

Some improvements have been applied to the Instar Analytics Website:
- New section "Software & Tools", where operators can find Instar Analytics-related tools, dongle drivers, I+ pre-requisites, etc...
- Documents in Operator's help section now have a version date, so that operators can be sure that they have the most up-to-date version of the document.
- With every new major version the corresponding client help files (CHM and HTML) will be uploaded to section "Operator's Help : Final-user documents : Client help".

Following our announcement in July surrounding our strategic partnership with twitter in the UK, I'm pleased to inform you that this agreement has extended to Spain. We will develop a new suite of tools to support planning and analytics for the UK and Spanish TV industries.
Kantar Media is rolling out the first in a suite of applications to enable broadcast audience data to be viewed on mobile devices. The mobile ‘app’ version of Instar Analytics, Kantar Media’s TV audience analysis software, provides 24-hour access to essential TV viewing analysis on the move.
